Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe company is known for its strong compliance culture, hands-on service, and long-standing client relationships.Position OverviewThe LCB Compliance Manager will lead the company's customs compliance program, ensuring all brokerage activity meets CBP and Partner Government Agency requirements. This role serves as the internal authority on trade compliance, overseeing entry quality, supervising the brokerage team, and advising both staff and clients on regulatory matters. The ideal candidate is a licensed customs broker with deep technical expertise, sound judgment, and the leadership skills to strengthen processes and mentor a team.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enforce the company's customs compliance policies and procedures in line with 19 CFR Part 111 and CBP reasonable care standardsProvide responsible supervision and control over brokerage operations, including entry writers, filers, and support staffConduct regular internal audits of entries covering HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and duty and fee accuracyReview and approve complex or high-risk entries, and guide the team on difficult classification, valuation, and trade program questionsOversee the preparation and filing of post summary corrections, protests, and prior disclosures as neededManage responses to CBP inquiries and enforcement actions, including CF-28 and CF-29 requests, notices of action, liquidated damages, and penalty casesMonitor and communicate changes in tariffs and trade regulations, including Section 301/232 duties, AD/CVD, and forced labor requirementsEnsure proper filing and compliance with PGA requirements such as FDA, USDA, EPA, and CPSCOversee power of attorney management, recordkeeping, and document retention in accordance with CBP requirementsMaintain broker license requirements, including triennial status reporting and continuing regulatory obligationsDesign and deliver compliance training for internal teams and clientsAdvise clients on compliance risks, best practices, duty-saving opportunities, and audit readinessUse ACE reports and data tools to identify trends, errors, and areas for process improvementPartner with operations, customer service, and management to align compliance objectives with business goalsKey Skills & QualificationsActive U.S. Customs Broker License (LCB) required5+ years of customs brokerage experience, including 2+ years in a compliance, supervisory, or management capacityExpert knowledge of HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and U.S. import regulationsStrong working knowledge of ACE and brokerage software (CargoWise preferred)Experience handling CBP penalties, audits, protests, and prior disclosuresFamiliarity with PGA requirements, FTAs, and special duty programsProven ability to lead, train, and develop a teamExcellent analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skillsStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex regulations clearlyKnowledge of the New York/New Jersey trade community is a plusWhat's on OfferCompetitive compensation package commensurate with experienceComprehensive benefits packageStable company with a strong industry reputationLeadership role with real influence over compliance strategyOpportunities for growth and professional developmentCollaborative team environment in the Queens areaInterested?
