Either highly technical, buried in models and architecture, or heavily stakeholder-focused with little involvement in the actual delivery.This role sits in the middle (or both). They need your skills in a client and stakeholder facing, upwards and downwards management and technical understanding.You'll lead a growing Data science function responsible for delivering real-world AI, machine learning and data science solutions across a complex professional services environment. The challenge is not simply building models. It's understanding business problems, translating them into practical solutions, and helping senior stakeholders understand exactly how technology can create value.The team is already delivering across machine learning, GenAI, document intelligence, search, retrieval, automation and knowledge management. The next phase involves expanding AI capability, shaping a longer-term roadmap around emerging technologies such as Agentic AI, and driving adoption across the wider business.Key responsibilities include:Leading a team of Data Scientists and AI specialistsDefining Data & AI strategy and technical directionDesigning and delivering Machine Learning, NLP, GenAI and RAG-based solutionsWorking directly with senior business stakeholders and clientsTranslating complex technical concepts into clear business languageDriving delivery of AI products from concept through to productionEstablishing governance, evaluation frameworks and responsible AI controlsCoaching and mentoring technical teams while remaining hands-on when requiredTo be successful, you'll need a strong background in Data Science, Machine Learning and modern AI technologies, combined with the communication skills to operate confidently from technical workshops through to executive-level discussions.If you can articulate complex AI concepts in 30 seconds, influence stakeholders at every level, and lead a team focused on solving difficult business problems with data – please apply.An opportunity to help shape the future direction of AI within a business that is investing heavily in the technology, in a disruptive industry and determined to stay ahead of the curve.
