Employment Type: ContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Lead Android Engineer with strong hands-on Kotlin expertise to support mobile development initiatives for a large enterprise client.This is a mission-based engineering role.

Rather than joining one permanent product team, this engineer will be deployed across different teams and initiatives based on where additional Android engineering expertise is needed.The ideal candidate can quickly understand an existing application and codebase, ramp up with minimal guidance, and begin contributing immediately.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, enhance, and support native Android applicationsBuild high-quality mobile features using KotlinQuickly understand existing Android applications, architecture, and codebasesIndependently own features and technical initiatives from development through deliveryTroubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issuesContribute to Android architecture and technical design decisionsCollaborate with engineers, product teams, designers, and other cross-functional partnersPerform code reviews and help maintain strong engineering standardsTransition between different teams and projects as business priorities changeProvide technical leadership while remaining highly hands-on with developmentRequired QualificationsStrong professional experience developing native Android applicationsAdvanced hands-on experience with KotlinSenior or Lead-level Android engineering experienceExperience building and supporting production-scale mobile applicationsStrong understanding of Android architecture and development best practicesExperience working within existing Android codebasesStrong debugging, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving skillsAbility to independently own development work with minimal directionStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsComfortable working in a fast-paced, mission/project-based environmentPreferred ExperienceJetpack / Jetpack ComposeMVVM or similar Android architecture patternsCoroutinesRetrofitDagger / HiltFirebaseCI/CDAutomated testingExperience supporting large-scale consumer-facing mobile applicationsIdeal CandidateThe strongest candidates will be highly hands-on Android engineers with recent Kotlin experience who can enter an unfamiliar environment, quickly understand the codebase, and begin delivering without a lengthy ramp-up period.This role is best suited for an experienced individual contributor who can provide lead-level technical ownership while still spending significant time coding.Interview ProcessOne 60-minute interview consisting of a mix of technical and behavioral questions.
