Lead Android Software Engineer — Medical DeviceSummaryWe're seeking a Lead Android Software Engineer to build and maintain Android applications that are core to our medical device ecosystem. You'll work at the intersection of mobile software and connected medical devices, collaborating with embedded, cloud, systems, quality, and regulatory teams to develop reliable software that meets the rigor of a regulated environment. This role owns complex features end-to-end — from requirements through implementation, verification, and post-market support.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using KotlinOwn the architecture and implementation of complex featuresBuild applications that communicate reliably with connected devices via BLE and other protocolsCollaborate with embedded engineers to define interfaces between the app and device hardwareDevelop unit, integration, and automated testing to ensure software qualityParticipate in design reviews, code reviews, and root-cause analysisIdentify software hazards and contribute to risk-control strategiesMaintain documentation and design artifacts per the quality management systemSupport design controls, verification and validation, and regulatory submissionsInvestigate field issues and implement corrective actionsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience7+ years of professional software development, including production Android applicationsAdvanced proficiency with Kotlin and the Android SDK, including Jetpack Compose and Coroutines/FlowStrong software architecture, concurrency, and API design knowledgeExperience building applications that communicate with external hardware or connected devicesExperience with automated testing and Git-based CI/CD workflowsStrong written and verbal communication skillsMedical device, digital health, or other regulated/safety-critical software experience preferredFamiliarity with IEC 62304, ISO 14971, or FDA QSR preferredBLE communication experience preferred
