Role Summary

The Lead - API Product Line is responsible for the overall management and performance of the API product line, ensuring operational efficiency, quality compliance, delivery performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction.The role requires strong leadership to coordinate cross-functional teams across production, machining, quality, engineering, planning, procurement, and logistics to achieve business objectives. The position will play a critical role in driving manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement, and in ensuring compliance with API, ISO, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Product Line ManagementLead the complete API product line operations from order receipt through production, inspection, testing, and final delivery.Ensure efficient utilization of manpower, machines, materials, and resources.Monitor production schedules and prioritize activities to meet customer commitments.Review capacity, bottlenecks, and resource allocation to achieve production targets.Manufacturing & Operations ExcellenceDrive production activities involving CNC Turning, Milling, Horizontal Boring, Deep Hole Drilling, and related manufacturing processes.Ensure manufacturing processes adhere to approved procedures, technical specifications, and quality standards.Implement best manufacturing practices to improve throughput, efficiency, and reliability.Support process optimization initiatives to enhance operational performance.Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with API Standards, ISO requirements, customer specifications, and company quality systems.Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.Promote a strong quality culture focused on defect prevention and continuous improvement.Drive First Pass Yield (FPY) improvement initiatives across the product line.Planning & Supply Chain CoordinationCollaborate with planning, procurement, stores, and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow and production continuity.Monitor inventory levels and support effective production planning.Ensure timely execution of customer orders while maintaining delivery commitments.Resolve operational challenges affecting schedules or customer requirements.Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead and develop teams consisting of machinists, supervisors, inspectors, engineers, and support personnel.Establish clear objectives and performance expectations for team members.Identify skill gaps and support employee development initiatives.Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous learning.Customer & Stakeholder ManagementParticipate in customer meetings, project reviews, audits, and technical discussions.Act as a key point of contact for operational matters related to the API product line.Support business growth initiatives through operational excellence and customer satisfaction.Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Continuous ImprovementLead Lean Manufacturing and productivity improvement projects.Drive cycle-time reduction and cost optimization initiatives.Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring issues.Utilize operational data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)Ensure compliance with all company HSE policies and procedures.Promote a safe working environment and encourage proactive safety practices.Participate in safety reviews, inspections, and risk mitigation activities.Drive a zero-incident safety culture across the product line.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline.Additional certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, API Standards, or Operations Management will be an added advantage.10-15 years of experience in Oil & Gas Manufacturing, Precision Machining, Heavy Engineering, or Industrial Manufacturing environments.Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership or management role.Proven experience managing end-to-end manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams.Experience handling customer audits, quality systems, and operational improvement projects.Technical Competencies: CNC Turning & Milling Operations, Horizontal Boring Machines, Deep Hole Drilling Processes, Manufacturing Process Planning, API Standards & Specifications, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), Quality Management Systems, Production Planning & Control, Lean Manufacturing Principles, Continuous Improvement Methodologies, Root Cause Analysis, ERP Systems & Production Reporting, Operational Performance Management.Behavioural Competencies: Leadership & Team Management, Strategic Thinking, Problem Solving & Decision Making, Communication & Stakeholder Management, Customer Focus, Conflict Resolution, Results Orientation, Accountability & Ownership, Adaptability & Change Management.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): On-Time Delivery (OTD), First Pass Yield (FPY), Production Productivity, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Product Line Profitability, Audit Compliance Score, Customer Satisfaction, Safety Performance Metrics, Scrap & Rework Reduction, Cost Optimization Achievement.Why Join:This role offers the opportunity to work on critical Oil & Gas manufacturing projects, lead high-performing teams, and contribute to the growth of a world-class manufacturing operation.
