Lead Backend Engineer

Lead Backend Engineer position is open at a booming sports technology scale-up, that works alongside some of the largest organisations in sports. This is a UK based role, working remote with occasional travel to London a couple times a month with occasional client visits.What this Lead Backend Engineer role entails:You'll own the backend infrastructure and services, be a manager and guide for the other backend engineers, you'll also set the engineering standard that the team develops with. You'll also govern the usage of AI in backend development, and the products being built for clients. As Lead Backend Engineer you'll also need to provide backend time frames and technical counsel for presales and RFPs.What you'll need:5+ years of backend engineering, as well as 2+ years as a tech lead or an equivalent roleExperienced in Go , with a Java being a bonus due to legacy servicesExperience with microservices at scale / high throughput systems is highly desirableProduction level AWS skills, with PostgreSQL/MongoDBThird-party integrations at scaleUsed AI-assisted development tools as an efficient multiplier and LLM APIsExperience in data, sport, ticketing or high-traffic consumer platforms is another useful add-onLocation and Availability:UK based (remote), with travel to London a couple times a month and occasional client visitsAvailability within a month's notice is preferredSalary£75,000 - £80,000To apply for this position, send your CV to Rob Goffin at IT Recruitment Solutions now!
