Lead Brewer

Our award winning brewery client, based in the West Midlands is recruiting a Lead Brewer who is passionate about creating exceptional beer to join their team.Responsibilities include:Ensuring the consistent and quality-driven production of core and seasonal brands, from wort production, through fermentation and cellaring, to packaging.Creating and developing new recipes and driving innovationSupervising and supporting the ongoing training of the production teamAssisting with maintaining and developing our SALSA and HACCP systemsUndertaking QA & QC including lab testing and sensory analysisUsing Brewman to track production and inventoryPreventative and reactive maintenance and troubleshootingMaintaining stock levels and building supplier relationshipsAttending industry events and being an upstanding ambassador for the breweryWorking closely with the logistics and sales teams to meet daily challengesEssential requirements:Minimum 5 years in a commercial breweryExperience designing and brewing a broad range of beer stylesStrong technical brewing knowledge and problem-solving skillsExperience working within the SALSA and HACCP frameworksStrong team leadership and communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and record-keepingIT proficiency including Brewman and/or BrewwImpeccable standards of cleanliness and organisationPhysically fit and capable of lifting up to 25kg with easeFull UK driving licenceDesirable skills/attributes:Brewing/Science Degree, IBD Diploma, or similarSALSA and HACCP managementApplications from candidates already eligible to work in the UK only please.For more information and to apply for this role please contact:Caroline.wolny@carlingrecruitment.com
