Our researchers partner closely with physicians to evaluate emerging evidence, investigate complex scientific questions, inform the development of clinical protocols, and strengthen the rigor of Era’s care modeAbout The OpportunityEra is seeking an exceptional scientist to lead the research engine that powers our clinical care and helps us advance the science of women's healthspan.This is a highly hands-on research leadership role at the intersection of science and medicine. You will work directly alongside Era's physicians to translate the latest research into clinical practice. Specifically, designing and evolving clinical protocols, investigating complex patient-specific questions, evaluating emerging therapeutics and interventions, and rigorously vetting new diagnostics and technologies for potential integration into care.You will also help shape where Era goes next. You'll proactively identify emerging areas of science relevant to women 35+, develop research priorities alongside our physicians, investigate hypotheses emerging from our clinical practice and data, and contribute to original research and scientific publications.This is not a traditional academic research role or a purely managerial position. You will be both a hands-on scientist and the leader of Era's research function, personally conducting rigorous scientific work while building the systems, expert network, research agenda, and eventually the team that allow Era to remain at the forefront of evidence-informed women's healthcare.What You’ll DoSupport Era’s physicians to translate complex and emerging research into protocols that allow for personalized, evidence-informed patient care, conducting deep scientific analyses and developing clear, actionable recommendations.Investigate ad-hoc patient specific questions and clinical topics, conducting rigorous scientific analyses, and providing physicians with clear, actionable, and appropriately nuanced recommendations.Lead the evaluation of emerging therapeutics, supplements, diagnostics, technologies, and other interventions for potential integration into Era’s care model.Shape and drive Era’s research roadmap, identifying important unanswered questions in women’s health and opportunities to generate new insights from Era’s clinical experience and patient data.Collaborate with Era’s physicians to formulate research questions and hypotheses, design scientific studies, interpret findings, and develop original research for publication.Publish research in top peer-reviewed journals. Advance Era’s scientific impact through original research, publications, and external collaborations with leading academic institutions, researchers, and subject-matter experts.Build and evolve Era’s research capabilities, developing scalable systems, AI-enabled workflows, and the internal and external resources needed to conduct rigorous research efficiently.Continue to build and engage Era’s Medical Advisory Board, identifying experts whose knowledge and perspectives can help advance the organization’s clinical and scientific priorities.Manage Era’s existing research experts and, as the organization grows, recruit, build, and lead a multidisciplinary research team aligned with Era’s evolving clinical and scientific priorities.QualificationsPhD or equivalent research doctorate in health sciences, physiology, epidemiology, biomedical sciences, biostatistics, pharmacology, or a related disciplineExceptional training in research methodology, study design, statistics and critical evaluation of scientific literature.Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex bodies of evidence and translate them into clear, defensible conclusions.Experience conducting rigorous literature reviews, evidence syntheses, clinical or translational research, or related scientific work.Strong scientific writing and patient facing communication skills.Ability to work effectively with physicians and translate between scientific research and clinical application.Intellectual range and curiosity. You don't need to be the world's expert in every domain of women's health, but you need to know how to rapidly become deeply informed.Strong judgment, healthy scientific skepticism and a high bar for evidence.Comfort operating in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment where priorities evolve as new clinical questions and scientific developments emerge.Especially compelling:Research experience relevant to women's health, reproductive health, menopause, aging, longevity, metabolism, cardiovascular health, bone health or related fields.Experience in a clinical, healthcare, digital health, diagnostics environment.Experience developing external academic collaborations or publishing research with outside investigators.Experience in health technology, startups, or other high-growth organizations.Compensation & Benefits:Competitive Salary: Pay Range: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.Benefits Package: Comprehensive benefits, including health, vision & dental insurance and paid time off.
