Lead CNC VTL Machinist / Programmer - 2nd Shift
Location: Cook County, IL | On-sitePay: Up to $34/hour, based on experienceAn established metal manufacturer is seeking a 2nd Shift Lead CNC VTL Machinist / Programmer with experience machining large components in a high-mix, low-volume environment.This is a hands-on opportunity for a machinist who can take a part from blueprint through programming, setup, and machining while providing leadership on the shop floor.ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate CNC vertical turning lathes (VTLs) to produce large metal components.Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, and machining requirements.Develop and modify CNC programs, making adjustments during production as needed.Troubleshoot machining issues and verify finished parts meet specifications.Provide hands-on guidance to other machinists and help keep second-shift work moving.Maintain safe work practices and consistent quality.QualificationsCNC vertical turning lathe experience, including independent programming and setup.Background machining large components in high-mix, low-volume metal manufacturing.Ability to work from a blueprint through a completed part.Strong troubleshooting, measurement, and problem-solving skills.Ability to guide other machinists while remaining hands-on.Availability for second shift and substantial overtime.Heavy gearing experience is a plus.Compensation & BenefitsHourly pay up to $34, based on experience.Overtime opportunities with a substantial workload.Health, dental, and life insurance.401(k).Opportunity for continued growth.Interested?
