The ideal candidate should be comfortable owning BI solutions end-to-end—from understanding business requirements and designing data models to developing dashboards, optimizing queries, and working closely with backend/data engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain sophisticated Power BI dashboards and reports for business and operational analytics.Build scalable and well-structured data models, schemas, relationships, and semantic layers.Develop complex calculations using DAX, Power Query, and M.Work extensively with SQL databases, data warehouses, APIs, and backend data sources.Write and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and transformations.Understand source systems and translate raw data into reliable reporting datasets.Develop efficient ETL/ELT pipelines and collaborate with data engineering/backend teams.Ensure dashboard performance, data accuracy, consistency, and scalability.Implement appropriate Row-Level Security (RLS), user permissions, and data-access controls.Troubleshoot data discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis across frontend reports and backend systems.Define Power BI development standards, naming conventions, documentation, and deployment practices.Lead dashboard architecture and technical design reviews.Mentor junior analysts and Power BI developers.Work directly with business stakeholders to understand KPIs and translate requirements into actionable analytics.Manage deployment across development, test, and production environments.Required SkillsPower BI expertise is mandatory.Candidates should have strong hands-on experience with:5+ years of experience in BI, data analytics, or related rolesPower BI Desktop and Power BI ServiceAdvanced DAXPower Query / MData modeling and dimensional modelingExcellent communicator and can take ownership to lead a team.Star and snowflake schemasSQL and relational databasesDatabase design and backend data structuresETL/ELT conceptsData warehouses and data martsPerformance optimizationPower BI GatewayRow-Level SecurityData validation and reconciliationAPIs and multiple data-source integrationsExperience with technologies such as SQL Server, Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms is preferred.Preferred QualificationsExperience leading Power BI or BI development projectsExperience working with large datasets and enterprise applicationsStrong understanding of backend/database architectureExperience building executive and operational dashboardsMicrosoft Power BI a plusExperience mentoring or managing junior BI developersAbility to communicate directly with U.S. or international stakeholdersCandidates based in Nagpur are strongly preferred, although qualified candidates from anywhere in India are encouraged to apply.
