Apply & track with Apply EdgePurpose: The Lead Developer is responsible for analyzing requirements, providing software solutions, and supporting or automating business workflows. He or She will act as the IT administrator for key University systems, e.g., student evaluation and faculty workflows. The job holder will lead development activities and support or develop AUC in-house systems and supervise critical mission systems.
Responsibilities
Development and Technology: Plan, develop, maintain, and enhance systems using approved technologies and coding standardsConvert business requirements into automated processes and solution specificationsPlan, architect, and develop database integration points, e.g., views, functions, servicesAnalysis and Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and department managers to define and automate workflowsEngage with departments to analyze requirements and articulate specificationsManagement and Support: Manage development projects and resources. Responsible for sprint development, delivery, training, and support for in-house applicationsManage relationships with and coordinate third-party vendors for customizations and software maintenance or upgradesDefine and ensure adherence to support level agreements (SLAs)General Administrative Support: Perform other related duties as requested Requirements:Education and Experience:B.Sc. in computer science or computer engineering Minimum 10 years of experience, with five years in the same roleExcellent knowledge of web-development languages or tools, scripting languages, database concepts or ERD, and PL or SQLSkills:Technical Expertise: Expert working knowledge of TFS and GitHub as source controlKnowledge of Web Services, e.g., SOAP and RESTWorking knowledge of PHP or Python and expertise with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, and APIsSystem Experience: Working experience with Banner, Argos reporting, Degree Works, and Business Process Automation toolsThis position is open until October 11, 2026Placement is based on the candidate’s experience and skills.
