This role ensures products meet customer requirements while achieving cost, quality, schedule, and manufacturability objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development LeadershipLead end-to-end product development programs from concept maturity through production release.Establish engineering plans, schedules, technical milestones, and development budgets.Manage system architecture, design reviews, requirements traceability, and technical performance.Design & VerificationEnsure robust engineering processes are followed throughout development.Lead design reviews including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and production readiness reviews.Oversee product verification, validation, qualification, and certification activities.Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for technical issues.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Contracts, and Program Management teams.Ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Testability (DFT) principles are incorporated.Support transition from development to production.Financial & Resource ManagementManage engineering budgets and staffing plans.Allocate technical resources across programs.Monitor program performance against cost, schedule, and technical objectives.Team DevelopmentRecruit, develop, and retain high-performing engineering talent.Establish clear performance expectations and development plans.Build technical capability and succession plans within the organization.Success MetricsOn-time product launches.Development budget performance.Requirements compliance.Design maturity at release.Manufacturing readiness achievement.Customer satisfaction and program profitability.
