قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجLead EngineerSwindon, Wiltshire£60,000 - £70,000 Per Annum + 10% Bonus!We at JKR are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing business working on complex, bespoke machinery and equipment. This is a varied, customer-facing role for someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who enjoys being involved in the full engineering process.Lead Engineer Roles and Responsibilities: Lead the technical direction and mechanical design of complex machinery, mechanisms, special purpose machinery and bespoke equipmentProduce, check and approve robust mechanical design solutions in line with client specifications, national standards and regulatory requirementsProduce and oversee detailed 3D CAD designs and 2D manufacturing drawings, ideally using Autodesk InventorProduce and verify engineering design calculations and check the technical solutions of other engineersReview designs and drawings for suitability for manufacture and contribute to manufacturability reviewsAct as the technical authority and point of escalation for engineering queries, technical problems and design solutionsTake ownership of allocated engineering projects from initial enquiry/order through to successful completionCoordinate engineering documentation and workshop activity in line with project programmesWork closely with production to plan and prioritise workshop loading, resources and material availabilityMonitor projects against cost, time and quality targets, identifying and managing risks and variancesWork directly with customers to understand requirements, discuss technical solutions and provide technical supportSupport the commercial and sales process by providing engineering input into bids, estimates, proposals and project budgetsProvide day-to-day leadership, direction and mentoring to the engineering teamSupport the technical development and professional growth of other engineersGet involved with hands-on mechanical build, assembly, fitting and development of machinery where requiredWork closely with engineering, manufacturing, production and commercial teams across the businessAttend customer sites, conferences, exhibitions and other industry events when requiredKeep up to date with industry and market developments and identify potential opportunitiesPromote a high-performance, safety-first culture and ensure high standards of health, safety and quality are maintainedWork to the required regulatory and compliance standards within a highly regulated engineering environmentLead Engineer Ideal Candidate:Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a similar discipline, or equivalent industry experienceStrong and demonstrable mechanical engineering backgroundExperience designing complex machinery, mechanisms, special purpose machinery or bespoke engineered productsExperience leading or taking technical ownership of engineering projects from concept through to completionPrevious experience providing technical leadership, guidance, mentoring or line management to other engineersStrong 3D CAD experience, ideally with Autodesk Inventor, together with experience producing detailed 2D manufacturing drawingsGood knowledge of GD&T to BS8888:2020Experience producing and checking engineering calculationsStrong understanding of design for manufacture and manufacturabilityCommercially aware, with an understanding of project budgets, costs, resource and workshop planningConfident communicating technical information to customers, suppliers and internal teamsComfortable working directly with customers and attending customer meetings and sitesA hands-on approach with the ability to get involved in mechanical assembly, fitting and development when requiredAble to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsWilling to travel within the UK for customer visits, conferences, exhibitions and project meetingsA proactive, collaborative and practical approach to engineering and problem-solvingJackie Kerr Recruitment is an independent agency that has been established for 28 years.We strive to provide the ultimate consultancy service to all our candidates.
