Lead Facilities Development EngineerBased in Dubai, UAEExcellent Day rate and benefits offered Lead engineering studies, conceptual design and technical-economic assessments for oil and gas facilities development projects.The successful candidate will evaluate development opportunities, identify and assess technically feasible solutions, develop engineering concepts and provide recommendations to support investment decisions.ResponsibilitiesEstablish study objectives, technical requirements and engineering bases for facilities development opportunities.Lead in-house engineering studies, feasibility assessments and conceptual design activities.Evaluate alternative engineering solutions and recommend technically and commercially viable concepts.Oversee external engineering studies undertaken by engineering service contractors and consultants.Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering assessments, including process simulations, conceptual Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and specifications for long-lead equipment.Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operating Expenditure (OpEx) estimates.Develop economic evaluations, sensitivity analyses and supporting models to assess the viability of proposed concepts.Prepare technical study reports, supporting documentation and engineering recommendations.Develop and present Opportunity Development Process (ODP) gate presentations for Gate 1 (Identify), Gate 2 (Assess/Concept Select) and Gate 3 (Sanction).Undertake occasional visits to offshore and onshore facilities to support technical discussions, site assessments and scope definition.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.Minimum 15 years of experience in process and chemical engineering within the oil and gas industry.At least 10 years of experience in facilities development, feasibility studies and conceptual engineering design.Strong understanding of oil and gas production facilities, process engineering and engineering study methodologies.Practical experience with process simulation software, particularly Aspen HYSYS and PIPESIM.Experience in developing engineering calculations, economic models and sensitivity analyses, preferably using Microsoft Excel.Exposure to the project lifecycle from conceptual design through FEED and, preferably, detailed engineering.Experience with brownfield facility modification projects is advantageous.Excellent technical report-writing, presentation and stakeholder communication
