Job Title: Lead Frontend Engineer (React / TypeScript / AI)Salary: Up to £145,000 base + Equity + Benefits

Location: London, King's Cross (3 days per week onsite)Work Type: PermanentRole:WeDo is partnering with a highly ambitious, Sequoia-backed AI startup that's redefining how global enterprises manage procurement and supply chain operations.Having recently secured Series A funding, the business is entering a significant growth phase, building an AI-native platform that enables enterprises to automate complex workflows through intelligent AI agents.They're now looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer who thinks like a Product Engineer, someone who wants to do more than implement designs and instead help define how users interact with AI.This is an opportunity to join early, take significant ownership and shape a product that has the potential to transform an entire industry.

Responsibilities

Own frontend development from initial product discovery through to production.Shape how enterprise users interact with AI agents, making complex workflows intuitive and accessible.Work directly with founders, Product, Design and customers to influence what gets built.Architect and develop scalable frontend applications using React and TypeScript.Build and evolve reusable UI components and design systems.Establish and improve frontend engineering standards, testing and development practices.Prototype, experiment and iterate quickly based on customer feedback.Make pragmatic technical decisions that balance speed, scalability and maintainability.Help shape the frontend engineering function as the business grows.

Required Skills

6+ years of commercial software engineering experience.Strong React, TypeScript and JavaScript expertise.Experience owning significant frontend projects from concept through to production.Strong understanding of frontend architecture, design systems and component-driven development.Experience improving engineering standards and practices.Strong product mindset with an appreciation for UX and interaction design.Experience working closely with Product, Design and end users.Exposure to LLMs, AI-powered products or agentic workflows.Comfortable operating in early-stage startups where ownership, speed and adaptability are essential.Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge technical and product decisions.Experience with Tailwind, Python or complex enterprise applications would be advantageous.Why Should I Apply?Real ownership, not just another frontend role.You'll be joining at a stage where your decisions will directly influence the product, the architecture and the future of the engineering team.Build at the forefront of AI.
