As a growing product company at the intersection of music, social media, and web technology, Plugin Record offers opportunities to shape a platform that empowers artists worldwide.Role Description The Lead Frontend Engineer will own the end-to-end architecture, implementation, and optimization of Plugin’s web and mobile frontends. This full-time remote role involves designing and building user-facing features, establishing UI component libraries, and ensuring responsive, performant interfaces across devices and networks. The person in this role will collaborate closely with product, design, and backend teams to translate requirements into intuitive user experiences, maintain high code quality, and drive frontend best practices. Day-to-day activities include reviewing and mentoring other engineers, managing technical decisions and trade-offs, and contributing to roadmap planning for frontend capabilities. The Lead Frontend Engineer will also be responsible for monitoring and improving frontend reliability, accessibility, and security while supporting continuous integration and deployment workflows.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong skills in modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Vue, or similar) and core web technologies (HTML5, CSS3).Candidates should possess skills in frontend architecture and state management (e.g., Redux or comparable tools), component-based design, and reusable UI patterns.Candidates should possess skills in performance optimization, responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and accessibility (WCAG or equivalent guidelines).Candidates should possess skills in integrating frontends with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, handling authentication flows, and managing client-side data.Candidates should possess skills in testing and quality assurance, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing using modern frontend testing frameworks.Candidates should possess skills in DevOps-adjacent practices for frontend, such as CI/CD pipelines, build tooling (Webpack, Vite, or similar), and version control with Git.Candidates should possess leadership and collaboration skills, including mentoring engineers, conducting code reviews, and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.Experience building consumer-facing or social media products, especially in music or creator-focused platforms, is highly beneficial.A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a
