Lead Functional Consultant, Microsoft D365 F&SCM Finance📍 Location: Oviedo, Florida🏢 Work Arrangement: Hybrid💼 Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent✈️ Travel: Occasional$120K - $140KThe OpportunityWe are seeking a Lead Functional Consultant specializing in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management, with a primary focus on Finance.This senior individual-contributor position will lead the functional design, configuration, optimization, and continued evolution of the organization’s D365 Finance capabilities. The consultant will work closely with finance stakeholders, implementation consultants, internal developers, and data and reporting teams to translate complex financial requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.The ideal candidate brings strong functional D365 Finance expertise, a solid understanding of enterprise financial processes, and a configure-before-customize approach to solution design.What You’ll DoLead current-state and future-state analysis across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank Management, Fixed Assets, budgeting, financial dimensions, and financial reporting.Translate complex finance requirements into functional D365 Finance solution designs.Lead fit-to-standard and fit-gap assessments.Determine whether requirements can be addressed through standard functionality, configuration, workflows, business-process changes, or other supported capabilities.Evaluate cross-functional impacts across Finance, Supply Chain, Project Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Inventory.Produce functional requirements, process flows, configuration specifications, solution-design documents, and decision records.Lead functional configuration across financial parameters, dimensions, posting profiles, workflows, organizational structures, and related areas.Demonstrate standard D365 Finance capabilities and recommend practical configuration alternatives.Review proposed customizations and challenge unnecessary development when standard functionality or process redesign can address the requirement.Assess Microsoft D365 Finance releases and recommend new capabilities that can replace manual processes or existing customizations.Lead finance workshops, fit-gap sessions, solution demonstrations, and design reviews.Partner with implementation consultants throughout discovery, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.Review implementation-partner designs and recommendations for alignment with business requirements and D365 standards.Provide internal developers with clear requirements, business justification, expected behavior, dependencies, and acceptance criteria when custom development is necessary.Lead functional testing, business validation, user acceptance testing readiness, training support, cutover preparation, and post-go-live stabilization.Diagnose complex issues involving accounting, posting, dimensions, workflows, financial processes, integrations, and data.Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve finance processes using existing D365 capabilities.Serve as a trusted D365 Finance advisor to finance leadership, controllers, accountants, process owners, subject-matter experts, and technology stakeholders.Provide functional governance for finance configuration and solution changes.Mentor Business Analysts and other team members on D365 Finance functionality and process design.What We’re Looking ForApproximately 6 to 7 years of relevant ERP, finance systems, business-process, or D365 experience.Significant hands-on functional experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance.At least two end-to-end D365 F&SCM implementations.Deep understanding of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash and Bank Management, Fixed Assets, financial dimensions, posting, workflows, and financial reporting.Experience leading substantial portions of the D365 Finance implementation lifecycle, including discovery, fit-to-standard analysis, fit-gap analysis, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live optimization.Strong understanding of Finance integration with Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Inventory, Projects, data, reporting, and other integrations.Strong workshop facilitation, requirements analysis, solution evaluation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.Why This Role Stands OutServe as the lead functional voice for an enterprise D365 Finance environment.Influence financial-process design, system governance, and long-term solution direction.Partner directly with finance leadership, process owners, implementation consultants, developers, and data teams.Help reduce technical debt by emphasizing standard D365 capabilities over unnecessary customization.Provide senior functional leadership and mentoring without direct people-management responsibility.Additional DetailsThe role follows a hybrid work model based in Oviedo, Florida.
