It enables underwriters to assess investor demand, refine pricing and issuance terms and facilitate the final allocation of bonds to investors.### Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development and delivery of scalable backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.- Design and develop microservices and RESTful APIs to support critical bookbuilding workflows.- Translate complex business requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.- Drive technical design decisions, code reviews, coding standards and engineering best practices.- Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, architects, QA engineers and other technology teams.- Troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure application stability, performance and reliability.- Mentor developers, provide technical guidance and take ownership of end-to-end delivery.- Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and continuous improvement of the development process.### Essential Skills- Strong hands-on experience in **Core Java and Spring Boot**.- Proven experience designing and developing enterprise-grade backend applications and microservices.- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, object-oriented design, design patterns and distributed systems.- Experience with SQL databases, data modelling and query optimisation.- Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, performance tuning and application troubleshooting.- Experience with unit testing, integration testing, Git and CI/CD practices.- Proven ability to lead technical delivery, mentor developers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.### Desirable Experience- Exposure to investment banking, particularly Debt Capital Markets (DCM) or Fixed Income.- Understanding of bond issuance, investor order management, bookbuilding, pricing and allocation workflows.- Experience working on business-critical financial applications with high standards of reliability and auditability.- Familiarity with messaging platforms such as Kafka, cloud technologies and containerisation.### What We’re Looking ForA hands-on technical leader who combines strong Java and Spring Boot expertise with sound engineering judgement, problem-solving skills and the ability to lead delivery in a demanding financial services environment.📩 **Interested or know someone who would be a good fit?** Please get in touch or share your CV.#Hiring #JavaDeveloper #SpringBoot #JavaJobs #InvestmentBanking #Microservices #LondonJobs #TechCareers
