The organization operates across the Bay Area, including the Peninsula, South Bay, and North Bay.Role Description The Lead LEGO City Teacher is a full-time, hybrid on-site and remote role based in Mountain View, CA. This position is responsible for leading LEGO city-based classes and camps, guiding students through building, designing, and governing their own LEGO cities. Day-to-day tasks include planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons, facilitating collaborative role-play and group activities, and integrating civics, history, and real-world examples into hands-on projects. The Lead LEGO City Teacher mentors and supports assistant staff, ensures a safe and inclusive learning environment, and communicates regularly with families about student progress and program activities. This role also contributes to curriculum refinement, helps set up and organize materials and classroom spaces, and participates in occasional special events and workshops.QualificationsCandidates should possess skills in Teaching and Education, with experience engaging elementary and middle school learners in interactive, project-based environments.Candidates should possess strong Lesson Planning and Training skills, including the ability to design structured, age-appropriate activities and guide support staff.Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear classroom communication, constructive feedback to students, and professional communication with families and colleagues.Experience in youth development, camp or after-school programs, or informal education settings is beneficial.Background or coursework in education, child development, or related fields is preferred.Ability to manage a dynamic classroom, support diverse learning styles, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment is essential.Interest in LEGO building, creative projects, or STEM/STEAM activities is a plus.BenefitsFlexible Schedule (Outside of scheduled Monday and Wednesday afternoon classes in Palo Alto)Hybrid Schedule: Variety: between year-round classes, and our school break camp seasons (Winter and Summer!) there is so much variety to keep things exciting- both for you, and the students!Compensation: Full Time: $45,000 to $50,000 per year
