Low-Latency Principal EngineerEC1 Partners | Singapore | Financial Markets TechnologyEC1 Partners is working with a leading global financial markets technology business that is looking to hire a Low-Latency Principal Engineer in Singapore.This is a senior technical leadership role focused on owning latency across the full trading platform. The successful candidate will work across software, protocols, connectivity, configuration, hardware and networking to identify bottlenecks, improve visibility and drive measurable performance improvements across trading systems.The role would suit a hands-on principal engineer or senior technical lead with strong experience across low-latency trading platforms, C++ engineering, performance optimisation and trading infrastructure.The RoleYou will be responsible for improving latency, throughput and reliability across a business-critical trading platform. This will involve designing and implementing telemetry, instrumentation and notifications to identify latency issues, using data to evidence bottlenecks, and working with engineering, infrastructure and business stakeholders to prioritise and deliver improvements.This is a high-impact role with ownership across the platform, from analysis and design through to development, optimisation, production troubleshooting and senior stakeholder communication.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn latency analysis and optimisation across the trading platformIdentify, evidence and prioritise latency-producing bottlenecksDesign and implement telemetry, instrumentation and alertingLead improvements across software, protocols, connectivity, configuration, hardware and networkingDevelop and optimise low-latency trading servicesWork closely with engineering, infrastructure and business teamsPresent progress, findings and recommendations to senior managementHelp drive engineering practices and standards around low-latency performanceExperience RequiredStrong C++ engineering backgroundExperience building or optimising low-latency / high-throughput trading systemsStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms and performance optimisationExperience with telemetry, instrumentation, observability or benchmarkingExposure to Java and/or Python would be beneficialStrong Linux / trading infrastructure understandingGood understanding of FX or electronic trading workflowsAbility to work across engineering, infrastructure and business stakeholdersStrong communication skills, including presenting technical findings to senior audiencesProactive, detail-oriented and comfortable owning complex performance problems end to endThis is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical latency function within a global trading technology environment and play a key role in improving platform performance, reliability and client outcomes.Please submit your CV or contact Andrew Scotts at EC1 Partners for a detailed discussion.
