Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob Title: Senior Mobile Fleet Technician / Diesel MechanicLocation: West Charlotte, NC, Field-BasedService Area: Southwest Charlotte industrial corridor, including the Charlotte Douglas International Airport areaReports To: Franchise OwnerEmployment Type: Full-TimeCompensation: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, and demonstrated technical abilityPay Structure: Stable hourly pay, no flat rateAdditional Compensation: Overtime rate applicable, annual tool allowance of $1,500 to $2,500, and certification incentivesPosition Summary: Zaddy Solutions is working directly with the franchise owner to recruit an experienced Senior Mobile Fleet Technician for our client, a new Charlotte-area mobile fleet maintenance and repair operation backed by an established and expanding business brand.This is a senior, independent position for a technician who can move confidently between gasoline and diesel vehicles, light-duty vans and trucks, medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles. The technician must be able to take a service call from diagnosis through repair and documentation without constant shop support.Our client will serve one of Charlotte’s most active industrial, logistics, transportation, and fleet-dependent corridors, including the area surrounding Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The selected technician will join the founding Charlotte team and help establish the operation’s service standards, customer experience, and reputation in the market.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on commercial fleet vehiclesService gasoline and diesel light-duty vehicles, medium-duty commercial vehicles, Class 6-8 trucks, and trailersPerform Federal/DOT inspections and identify safety defects and out-of-service conditionsDiagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, air brakes, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, steering, suspension, drivetrain, HVAC, and related componentsService trailer brakes, bearings, suspension, electrical systems, and lightingDiagnose no-start conditions, breakdowns, and roadside service concernsUse scan tools, multimeters, service information, and structured diagnostic proceduresComplete repairs at customer facilities, fleet yards, roadside locations, and other field environmentsCommunicate findings, repair recommendations, delays, and completion status professionallyMaintain accurate ShopMonkey work orders, including labor, parts, notes, inspections, recommendations, and photosCoordinate with the Operations Manager regarding scheduling, parts, customer approvals, repair priorities, and job completionMaintain an organized service vehicle, professional tool set, equipment, and work environmentFollow company procedures, manufacturer specifications, environmental requirements, and applicable safety regulationsHelp establish service standards and support future technician development as the Charlotte operation growsRequired QualificationsAt least five years of commercial fleet, diesel, truck, trailer, or heavy-equipment maintenance and repair experienceMust own and maintain a substantial professional mechanic tool set appropriate for commercial fleet, diesel, and trailer repairDemonstrated ability to work across light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty commercial vehiclesStrong diesel and gasoline diagnostic abilityExperience servicing Class 6-8 trucks and commercial trailersExperience with air brakes, hydraulics, electrical troubleshooting, steering, suspension, drivetrain systems, and preventive maintenanceQualified to perform Federal/DOT commercial vehicle and brake inspections, with the ability to document applicable training and experienceCurrent EPA Section 609 certificationPrevious ShopMonkey experienceAbility to diagnose and complete mobile repairs independently without constant supervisionAbility to complete accurate digital work orders and customer-facing service documentationProfessional communication and customer service skillsStrong commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and completing repairs correctlyValid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable under company insurance requirementsAbility to travel throughout Southwest Charlotte and the surrounding service areaAbility to perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodationQualifications that make you a superstarASE Medium-Heavy Truck certificationsClass A or B Commercial Driver’s LicenseAdvanced diagnostic, electrical, or OEM trainingWelding and fabrication experienceExperience with liftgates, auxiliary equipment, or specialized commercial vehicle systemsPrevious mobile fleet service or roadside repair experienceExperience mentoring or providing technical direction to other techniciansWhat Success Looks LikeVehicles are diagnosed accurately and repaired correctlyMobile repairs are completed safely and independentlyFederal/DOT inspections are thorough, accurate, and properly documentedCustomers receive clear communication and dependable serviceShopMonkey work orders are complete, timely, and detailedCustomer downtime is reducedTools, equipment, and the assigned service vehicle remain organized and readyThe Operations Manager can rely on consistent communication and follow-throughWork Environment: This is a field-based position serving the West Charlotte industrial corridor and surrounding market. Work will take place at customer facilities, distribution centers, fleet yards, roadside locations, and other commercial operating environments.The position requires working independently around commercial vehicles and equipment in varying weather and field conditions.
