With a strong track record and a commitment to continuous improvement, we are a trusted partner for aviation fuel facilities worldwide.The RoleOur client is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of jet fuel hydrant systems (including valve chamber design), fuel storage systems, process and plant equipment, pressure vessels, and piping systems, from concept through detailed design and issue for construction.You will ensure compliance with JIG 1, JIG 2, Energy Institute (EI) publications including EI 1540, EI 1584, EI 1585, and EI 1597, as well as international codes such as ASME and PED.Day-to-Day ResponsibilitiesPerforming hydraulic analyses and pressure surge modelling for fuel distribution systemsProducing and reviewing 3D models and 2D drawings in AutoCAD and Inventor or SolidWorksEvaluating vendor submittalsCoordinating with civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure integrated, constructable designsParticipating in HAZOPs and design reviewsProviding technical mentoring to junior engineers across aviation fuel infrastructure projectsWhat We're Looking For10+ years of mechanical engineering experience within the oil and gas industry, with exposure to process and plant equipment, pressure vessels, piping, and structural/mechanical systemsStrong working knowledge of ASME (VIII, B31.3), PED 2014/68/EU, and Energy Institute publications (EI 1540, EI 1584, EI 1585, EI 1597) relevant to aviation fuel systems and JIG 1 and JIG 2Experience designing jet fuel hydrant systems, valve chambers, above-ground storage tanks, and associated pipework and pressure equipmentExperience performing hydraulic analyses and pressure surge assessments for fuel distribution systems, including specification of surge suppression measuresProficiency in AutoCAD alongside Inventor or SolidWorks, for both 2D drawing production and 3D mechanical designExperience preparing technical requisitions, evaluating vendor submittals and fabrication drawings, and supporting factory acceptance tests (FATs) and inspectionsBachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline; Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or active progression towards chartership, is desirableStrong multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills; UAE or GCC project experience is an advantageIf you're an experienced mechanical engineer looking to bring your expertise to critical aviation fuel infrastructure projects, we'd love to hear from you.
