Apply & track with Apply EdgePerform detailed engineering design tasks for assigned projects, including calculations, drawings and specifications maintaining accurate records of design work and revisions throughout the project life cycle. Develop and prepare technical documentation and reports to support design decisions and project requirements. Participate in project meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate engineering solutions into overall project plans. Conduct design reviews evaluate vendor proposals ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards and company requirements. Utilize engineering software and tools to model, simulate and analyze design components. Assist in resolving technical issues during construction and commissioning phases. Continuously improve design processes and contribute to knowledge sharing within the project office. Perform other duties as required.What You BringBachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline7 years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience, OR Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and 5 years of experience in engineering or related scientific field, including lead or supervisory experienceAdvanced knowledge of the principles and practices of engineeringAbility to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusionsSkilled in managing large/complex engineering projectsAbility to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautionsSkilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazardsSkilled in supervising, evaluating, training and motivating employeesAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAdvanced degree and/or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification preferredPreferred QualificationsExpertise designing, analyzing, and optimizing conveyor and bulk material handling systems for mining operations, including review of layouts, equipment selection, and performance evaluations for belts, idlers, pulleys, drives, take-up systems, crushers, feeders, chutes, and related equipmentExpertise performing conveyor belt sizing, capacity, throughput, and performance analyses and modelling bulk material flow, particle interactions, and material handling system behaviorExpertise with applicable industry standards and safety regulations including MSHA and OSHA requirements as well as mechanical and material handling design criteriaExpertise developing Mechanical and Material Handling deliverables such as Piping and Instrument Diagrams (PIDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Equipment Datasheets, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Engineering Work Packages (EWPs)Expertise in Material Handling software (Belt Analyst, Ansys Rocky Particle Simulation, or equivalents) including ability to interpret results and develop design recommendationsProficiency developing and contributing to development of scoping documents, P6 schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and estimatesProficiency interfacing with database design software
