Job Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a well-established international consultancy that is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to strengthen its Data Centre design capability. This role is ideally suited to a mechanical engineer with strong experience in mission-critical environments such as Data Centres or similarly complex facilities (e.g. pharmaceutical or industrial projects). You will play a key role in delivering technically robust mechanical designs while providing leadership and direction within project teams.Day-to-Day Duties:Take technical ownership of mechanical design delivery for large-scale Data Centre projects from concept through to construction.Lead, coordinate, and mentor mechanical design teams, ensuring high-quality outputs that meet programme, budget, and client requirements.Act as the primary mechanical technical interface for clients, multidisciplinary consultants, and internal stakeholders.Develop and review mechanical design solutions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, local regulations, and client specifications.Review and approve mechanical design documentation, calculations, specifications, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy, resilience, efficiency, and constructability.Develop and review Data Centre mechanical systems, including cooling, HVAC, chilled water, heat rejection, ventilation, and associated critical infrastructure.Collaborate closely with electrical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver fully coordinated multidisciplinary designs.Support project managers with technical input on programme, risk management, value engineering, and cost optimisation.Contribute to business development activities by providing mechanical expertise for bids, proposals, and client presentations.Qualifications and Experience:Proven experience as a Lead or Senior Mechanical Engineer on Data Centre projects, ideally within a design consultancy environment.In-depth knowledge of Data Centre mechanical systems, including cooling systems, HVAC, chilled water, heat rejection, ventilation, and resilience strategies.Experience leading mechanical teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects.Excellent command of English and German (written and spoken).Familiarity with international standards, client requirements, and construction practices relevant to mission-critical facilities.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.PLEASE NOTEGerman and English language are a must for this role.
