Lead Mobile Engineer

About WualtWualt builds a women's safety smart ring and the mobile platform behind it. A wearable ring pairs with a companion mobile app. In an emergency the user triggers an SOS that sends their live location and an alert to trusted contacts in real time, backed by an AI engine that helps triage events. We are an early-stage startup heading towards launch, so the work is hands-on, fast, and high ownership.The roleWe are looking for a mobile-first engineer who can own our React Native application end to end and grow into the technical architect for the whole platform. The system is already built and live. You will take ownership of it, start as a team of one on the product side (with design and QA support), and build a team as the company scales. This is a build role, not a manage-from-above role.What you will ownMobile: the React Native application end to end, including architecture, performance, offline-first behaviour, real-time flows, and releases to the App Store and Play Store.Device and real-time: integration with our safety hardware over Bluetooth, and the reliability of the real-time SOS and alerting path, where a missed or delayed alert is not acceptable.Full product: working across our Python and Django backend on AWS to ship features end to end, and integrating our AI and ML capabilities into the product.Security: sound handling of sensitive location and health data, with authentication, encryption, and privacy built in.Leadership over time: setting the mobile engineering standards and, as we grow, hiring and leading a small team.What we are looking forReact Native (primary): strong, hands-on experience with production apps you have shipped to both the App Store and Play Store. Depth in the New Architecture, native modules, push, deep linking, and offline-first design is a big plus.Full-stack comfort: you can own the full product as a team of one and are comfortable working across a Python and Django backend and AWS, not only the app.Delivery: a track record of shipping real, reliable products end to end, ideally in a startup or small-team setting.Judgement: a security-first mindset and sound system-design judgement for a safety-critical product.AI-native: you use AI tools to move fast, but they do not replace your own architectural and engineering decisions.Nice to haveBluetooth or BLE, wearable, or IoT device integration.Real-time or event-driven systems such as live location, messaging, or alerts.Experience architecting around India's data protection law (DPDPA).Base AI and ML knowledge, and experience integrating ML into a live product.How to applyApply here on LinkedIn and email your resume to sunil@armortrixtech.com.
