Lead Mobile Engineer / Founding Engineer — TeamUp

TeamUp is looking for an experienced mobile engineer to take a lead development role and help bring the next version of our platform to market.About TeamUpTeamUp is a mobile app that helps people meet others in their area to play sports and be active together. Users can discover nearby players, create or join sporting events, build teams, connect with people who play the same sports, and compete through casual and ranked experiences.Our goal is to make finding people to play sports with as easy as opening an app.We’ve already made significant progress:• Most of the UX/UI is completed• More than half of the application has already been developed• Existing codebase and infrastructure are in place• Product direction and roadmap are established• We’re preparing for upcoming events, university activations, and our next public launchWe’re now looking for someone who can take ownership of the development process and lead the product moving forward.What you’ll do• Take ownership of the existing mobile codebase• Review what has already been built and determine the fastest path to launch• Finish and build production-ready mobile features• Make important architecture and technical decisions• Work directly with the founder, designers, and TeamUp team• Join product and strategy meetings• Contribute ideas to improve the product and user experience• Troubleshoot technical issues and move quickly through development• Help establish engineering standards as the company grows• Potentially lead additional engineers and developers over timeCurrent Technology• React• Ionic• Capacitor• Supabase• Hono.js• Cloudflare WorkersWhat we’re looking for• Strong professional mobile application development experience• Several years of software engineering experience• Experience launching applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play• Strong React / TypeScript experience• Experience with APIs, databases, authentication, notifications, and production infrastructure• Ability to take an existing application from development through production launch• Strong communication and leadership skills• Ability to work independently and make technical decisions• Startup mentality and willingness to move quicklyMost importantly, we’re looking for someone more than just a developer.We want a builder, problem solver, and leader who understands the vision, contributes ideas, challenges decisions when necessary, and wants to help build TeamUp alongside the rest of the team.This is a compensated role with the opportunity to grow within the company.📍 Miami preferred, but we’re open to exceptional candidates elsewhere in the U.S.When applying, please include:• LinkedIn / résumé• GitHub or portfolio• Mobile applications you’ve helped launch• Your specific role on those projectsWe are looking to move quickly and find the right person to help lead TeamUp into its next stage.
