Lead Developer – Help Build the Next Generation of a Client-Facing Digital Platform!|Thrively has partnered with a well-established financial services organization in Fort Worth that is making significant investments in modernizing how its clients interact with the business. As our client expands its digital and self-service capabilities, they're looking for an experienced Lead Developer who can lead from the front while remaining hands-on in the technology. This isn't a role where you'll inherit an application and simply keep the lights on. The team owns one of the company's most important client-facing platforms, spanning web, mobile, and the digital experience clients use to access and interact with their information. The current environment includes .NET/C#, Angular/JavaScript, Azure, and Salesforce Experience Cloud, but the longer-term roadmap is much bigger. Our client plans to continue modernizing the platform, expand digital self-service, and ultimately move toward a more modern web and native mobile experience. The Opportunity:As a Lead Developer, you'll join a small, highly productive engineering team and serve as both a technical leader and hands-on developer. You'll write and review code, mentor engineers, influence architecture, partner with Product and business stakeholders, and help guide the team through the next generation of the platform. We're specifically looking for someone who has already been a true technical lead. This isn't the right opportunity for someone looking to become a lead for the first time. The team needs someone comfortable stepping in, earning trust, mentoring developers, making technical decisions, and contributing to the codebase. What You'll Do:Lead a development team responsible for highly visible, client-facing web and digital applications.Remain hands-on in development while providing technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship.Lead solution design and break complex initiatives into executable development work.Participate across the full software development lifecycle, from design and development through testing, deployment, and production support.Establish and champion coding standards, design patterns, development processes, and engineering best practices.Perform code reviews and technical sign-off to ensure quality and consistency across the team.Mentor junior and mid-level developers and serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges.Partner closely with Product, Architecture, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex application issues.Help evaluate new technologies and influence the team's longer-term technical roadmap.Drive technical and process improvements across the broader engineering organization.Play a leadership role in an Agile environment, including sprint planning, daily huddles, retrospectives, and ongoing delivery. What We're Looking For:We're looking for an experienced Lead Developer who brings strong full-stack engineering fundamentals and can contribute quickly while still having the curiosity to learn new technologies. You'll likely bring:6+ years of professional software development experience.Previous experience as a Lead Developer, Tech Lead, or in a similar hands-on technical leadership role.Strong hands-on experience with .NET/C# development.Strong modern JavaScript experience, ideally Angular.Full-stack experience across UI, API, and database layers.Strong SQL and relational database experience.Experience designing and consuming REST and/or SOAP services.Experience with modern web and cloud platforms, ideally Azure.Strong understanding of SOLID principles, application architecture, and modern design patterns.Experience with Git, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and modern development tooling.Experience with Test Driven Development and automated testing practices.Strong HTML5/CSS3 fundamentals. The ability to mentor developers, conduct meaningful code reviews, and raise the technical bar across a team.Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.Salesforce Experience Cloud experience is a plus, but it is not a requirement. Our client would rather find a strong .NET/C# and JavaScript/Angular lead and teach the Salesforce portion of the environment than sacrifice the core engineering and leadership skills they need. Why This Role Stands Out:This is an opportunity to take ownership of a platform that is becoming increasingly important to the future of the business. You'll have the chance to:Lead a lean engineering team that has a reputation for getting a lot done without unnecessary layers or bureaucracy.Stay hands-on technically instead of moving into a people-management-only role.Help shape the evolution of a major client-facing platform rather than simply maintain a legacy application.Influence architecture, engineering standards, and the technology roadmap.Work on a modernization journey that includes digital self-service, modern web development, cloud technology, and ultimately native mobile.Join a stable, established organization while still getting the opportunity to build, modernize, and solve interesting technical problems. The role is hybrid in Fort Worth, with the team onsite Tuesday through Thursday and working remotely Monday and Friday. If you're an experienced .NET lead who still loves being close to the code, enjoys developing the engineers around you, and wants an opportunity to put your fingerprints on where a major platform goes next, we'd love to introduce you to this opportunity.
