Lead .NET Developer

Our client is a leading professional services company supporting a large enterprise tax platform in the US, looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Scrum Team Lead to join their growing development team.The application consists of multiple modules, including external system integrations, a calculation engine, user management and access control, documentation, comments and exports.Skills and Requirements:Over 7 years of experience in software development, with proven experience as a Backend Engineer and a strong focus on production support and troubleshooting.Strong proficiency in C# and .NET, including ASP.NET WebAPI, API design and ASP.NET MVC Core.Expertise in Dependency Injection, Entity Framework Core, Unit of Work and Repository patterns.Strong experience with unit and integration testing using frameworks such as xUnit, MSTest or NUnit.Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.Knowledge of React, together with a basic understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, npm and Node.js.Solid understanding of system architecture, networking principles and distributed systems.Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, together with experience using performance monitoring, profiling and static code analysis tools.Experience with authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and JWT.Familiarity with incident management systems and IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.Excellent English communication skills and a strong consultant mindset, with the ability to propose innovations, explain the reasons for change and guide non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work effectively with teams operating in the US time zone, with standard working hours extending to approximately 6 pm CET and a preference for longer overlap with the US team.Role and Responsibilities:Lead a Scrum team – Lead a team of six developers and testers, fostering a collaborative, productive and supportive working environment while helping team members grow professionally.Own client communication – Act as the central point of contact for client representatives, maintaining open communication, addressing concerns and feedback, and ensuring expectations are effectively managed.Drive delivery and quality – Oversee the software development lifecycle to ensure projects are delivered with high quality and on time, while maintaining a strong sense of ownership and accountability for project success.Stay hands-on – Work as a hands-on developer, producing high-quality code at pace, conducting thorough code reviews and promoting software development best practices across the team.Apply strong engineering practices – Use design patterns effectively, explain their value to the team and implement them where appropriate.
