Lead .NET Engineer — Job DescriptionJob Title: Lead .NET EngineerDepartment: Engineering / Software DevelopmentReports To: Engineering Manager / Head of Software DevelopmentAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Lead .NET Engineer to drive the design, development, and delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions. You will provide technical leadership across the engineering team, set coding standards, mentor engineers at all levels, and play a pivotal role in shaping our architectural direction while staying hands-on with development.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, high-performance applications using .NET and C#Own and drive architectural decisions across the team, ensuring alignment with business goalsArchitect and implement RESTful APIs and microservicesSet and enforce coding standards, best practices, and SOLID principles across the teamLead code reviews and provide constructive, high-quality feedback to engineersMentor and coach junior, mid-level, and senior engineers, supporting their technical growthAct as the primary technical point of contact for cross-functional teams including product, design, and stakeholdersTranslate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutionsIdentify and drive resolution of performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical debtLead and facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, stand-ups)Drive improvements to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesEnsure applications meet security, compliance, and scalability requirementsStay current with .NET ecosystem updates and champion adoption of emerging technologiesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience7+ years of professional software development experience5+ years of hands-on experience with .NET (C#), including .NET Core / .NET 6/7/8Proven experience in a technical lead or senior leadership roleStrong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservicesProficiency with ASP.NET Core (MVC, Web API, Razor Pages)Deep understanding of OOP, design patterns, and SOLID principlesExperience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (Entity Framework Core, Dapper)Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, or Blazor) is a plusExperience with unit testing and integration testing frameworks (xUnit, NUnit, MSTest, Moq)Proficiency with Git and source control workflows (branching strategies, PRs, code reviews)Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and deploying .NET applications to cloud environmentsFamiliarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)Preferred QualificationsExperience with message brokers and event-driven architecture (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka)Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cosmos DB)Experience with SignalR for real-time applicationsKnowledge of gRPC and GraphQLExperience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and CQRS/Event Sourcing patternsAzure or AWS certificationExperience with Blazor for full-stack .NET developmentFamiliarity with observability tools (Application Insights, Datadog, Serilog, OpenTelemetry)Soft SkillsStrong leadership presence with the ability to influence and inspire a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including with non-technical stakeholdersAbility to lead technical discussions and drive architectural decisions with confidenceStrategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem solvingSelf-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityCollaborative team player who thrives in an Agile environmentPassion for clean code, continuous learning, and engineering excellence
