By combining Saudi market knowledge with advanced Chinese engineering capabilities, AQSSE drives innovation, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence in domestic and international projects.Role Description The Lead Planning Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Eastern Province. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules, coordinating production planning activities, and ensuring alignment between project milestones, resources, and budget. The Lead Planning Engineer will oversee project control processes, analyze progress data, prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders, and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, monitoring risks and opportunities, optimizing planning tools and methods, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across multiple projects.Job Overview The Senior Planning & Scheduling Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and controlling integrated project schedules for EPC oil and gas projects, ensuring alignment with contract requirements, execution strategies, and Saudi Aramco planning and reporting standards. Roles & Responsibilities• Develop, maintain, and control integrated EPC project schedules from engineering through construction, commissioning, and handover. • Establish project baseline schedules, progress measurement systems, and schedule control procedures. • Prepare detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning schedules in alignment with project execution plans. • Monitor project progress, analyze schedule performance, and identify critical path activities and risks. • Prepare schedule updates, forecasts, and recovery plans to mitigate delays and slippages. • Interface closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and Project Management teams to ensure schedule alignment. • Support planning input to project controls, cost control, and risk management activities. • Prepare and submit planning reports, dashboards, and schedule narratives to the Client. • Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco planning, reporting, and progress measurement requirements. • Support change management by assessing schedule impacts related to variations and scope changes. • Participate in progress meetings, schedule reviews, and management presentations. • Support claims avoidance and claims preparation by maintaining accurate and auditable schedule records. • Ensure proper documentation, schedule logs, and planning records are maintained.Qualifications & RequirementsEducationBachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or equivalent).Experience• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling within EPC oil and gas projects. • Preferred experience working on Saudi Aramco projects. • Strong experience developing and managing EPC schedules for large, multi-discipline projects. • Proven experience in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning planning. • Solid understanding of EPC execution strategies and schedule risk management. Skills & Competencies:• Strong expertise in planning and scheduling methodologies and controls. • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and project planning tools. • Strong analytical, reporting, and problem-solving skills. • Excellent coordination and communication abilities. • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities. • Strong documentation and schedule control discipline. • Familiarity with SAP, EPM, and project reporting systems.
