Be accountable for the quality and outcome of what ships.Influence product strategy and roadmap - Bring customer insights, business context and design judgment into what the team should build, not only how it should look. Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities proactively.Connect design decisions to measurable outcomes — Use product data, research, experimentation and customer feedback; define success metrics and show how design affects conversion, adoption, retention, efficiency, revenue or customer value.Use AI as part of the everyday design workflow - Use tools such as Figma AI, Claude Code, Cursor and other AI tooling for exploration, research synthesis, prototyping, content, edge cases and iteration. Build judgment around where AI accelerates work and where human evaluation is essential.Move closer to implementation - Work deeply with engineering, understand technical constraints and front-end fundamentals, create functional prototypes where useful, review implementation and reduce the gap between Figma → design system → code → shipped experience.Think in systems, not one-off screens — Create reusable patterns, components and scalable interaction models; strengthen design systems, accessibility, tokens and documentation. Increasingly, designers are also expected to make systems usable by AI tools and agents.Set a high craft and experience-quality bar — Maintain strong visual, interaction, information architecture, content and accessibility standards while simplifying complex workflows. Seniority should increase strategic scope without losing hands-on craft.Multiply the effectiveness of the team — Mentor designers, lead critiques and workshops, communicate design rationale and trade-offs clearly, influence senior stakeholders and turn successful methods—including AI workflows—into repeatable practices for the wider team.
