They’re tasked with creating new pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional, while also ensuring that these designs can be mass-produced at a reasonable cost. Furniture designers must have an eye for detail and an understanding of human anatomy and physiology. They must also be able to work well in a team environment—they rely on engineers, woodworkers, metalworkers, fabricators, and others to help bring their ideas to life.What You Will DoCarry out research to help develop ideas.Produce new designs, or improve existing onesCreating sketches and drawings of new designs using software such as 2D/3D CAD or other similar software.Meeting to discuss needs and preferences and recommending materials, colors, and styles that will meet their goals.Take into account size, shape, ergonomics and production methods when producing design ideas.Meeting with suppliers to select materials that meet the designer’s requirements for quality and cost.Developing a thorough understanding of current trends in style so new designs will be desirable to consumers.Reviewing existing furniture designs to identify opportunities for improvement or change.Creating models of new designs for testing in physical simulations such as ergonomic studies such as sitting positions in chairs.Key QualificationsBachelor’s degree in furniture design, industrial design, architectural design or related fieldMin. 5 years professional experience in furniture design.Creativity and practical abilityProficient in 2D/ 3D Cad or 3D Modeling processStrong portfolio of previous workExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move for extended periods, including walking through office, and warehouse spaces.Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer work, sketching, and handling material samples.Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, samples, and product prototypes.Ability to travel domestically and internationally for supplier visits, trade shows, and design development meetings.Visual acuity to assess product details, colors, and finishes accurately.Ability to adapt to various work environments, including office settings, and warehouses.Occasional bending, kneeling, or reaching to inspect products or review samples.What We OfferSalary up to 80 million per year.1X THR (based on THP) per year.Getting leave rights.BPJS Health and Employment.Work equipment and comfortable workplace facilities.
