Software Architect / Technical Lead / Randstad Area, Netherlands / PermanentI'm partnered with a well-established financial mortgage company operating in the Randstad area, serving a large and growing customer base. Until now, our software development has been fully outsourced. As part of our long-term digital strategy, we are bringing software development in-house and investing heavily in building a scalable, future-ready technology platform.This role is a key strategic hire and will play a central part in shaping the company’s technical direction for years to come.We are looking for an experienced Software Architect / Lead to spearhead the transition from outsourced development to an internal engineering function. You will define the technical vision, architecture, and development standards while laying the foundation for a high-performing in-house team, with a long-term goal of building 10+ software professionals.You will work closely with business stakeholders to ensure technology supports business goals, with a strong focus on efficiency, scalability, security, and innovation. A progressive mindset toward AI-driven development and automation is essential.Key Responsibilities:Define and own the software architecture and technical roadmapLead the transition from outsourced software development to an in-house modelMake key technology and tooling decisions aligned with long-term business strategyDesign scalable, secure, and maintainable systems suitable for a financial/mortgage environmentAct as hands-on technical lead during the initial build phaseChampion the use of AI and automation to improve development efficiency, quality, and speedEstablish best practices for coding standards, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and securityCollaborate with business, product, and compliance stakeholdersRecruit, mentor, and grow a high-performing software team (10+ engineers over time)Ensure compliance with relevant financial and data protection regulationsAbout You:Extensive experience as a Software Architect, Technical Lead, or Senior Software EngineerStrong background in designing and building complex software platformsExperience setting up development teams, processes, and architectures from scratch is highly desirableComfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levelsStrong understanding of modern software architectures (e.g. cloud, microservices, APIs)A clear advocate for AI-enabled development, automation, and efficiency improvementsExperience working in or with financial services is a strong plusExcellent communication skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutionsLeadership mindset with a passion for building and scaling teamsWhat They Offer:A rare opportunity to build and shape an in-house software function from the ground upHigh level of autonomy and influence on technology decisionsLong-term career growth into a senior leadership roleCompetitive salary and benefits packageHybrid working options in the Randstad areaStable organization with ambitious digital transformation plansPension.If interested get in touch: daniel.zelnis@vividresourcing.com
