Engineering Manager – AI Infrastructure – San Francisco - On Site 5 Days Per WeekSalary $280,000 to $320,000 + Meaningful Equity + Health InsuranceNot every engineering management role lets you work on problems that genuinely haven't been solved before. But here's the good catch: you don't need years of management experience.If you've got strong communication skills and the ambition to lead, you'll be supported to grow into the role while staying hands-on and shipping alongside your team.We're partnering with a well-funded AI infrastructure company that's scaling at an incredible pace. They've recently surpassed a $1B valuation and are building the technology that sits behind some of the world's most advanced AI products.This is a genuinely challenging hands-on engineering role. You'll lead a small team of experienced engineers while remaining close to the code, helping shape the architecture and direction of a platform built around high-performance compute, virtualization and distributed systems.The environment is heavily Linux based, I'd also love to see if you have experience with any of the following C/C++, Go, Rust KVM, QEMU etc. You don't need to have mastered every technology on day one, but you should be comfortable operating at a systems level and solving complex infrastructure problems.We're looking for someone who's built cloud infrastructure, virtualization platforms, platform engineering products or large-scale distributed systems and is excited by performance, reliability and engineering at scale.In return, you'll join a business that's growing rapidly, backed by significant investment, and offering a meaningful equity package alongside the chance to work on some of the toughest engineering challenges in AI today.If you're looking for a role where you'll still be building, mentoring and influencing technical direction every day, I'd love to have a chat.
