Lead software Engineer – Python, C#, Backend, Integrations & AI-Driven DevelopmentHybrid 1 day per week officeWe're looking for an exceptional Lead Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of enterprise systems, integrations, and software delivery.This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll combine deep technical expertise with architectural ownership, helping to build scalable platforms, modern integrations, and high-quality engineering practices. You'll remain close to the code whilst influencing technical direction across the business.What You'll Be DoingLeading the design and development of backend services and integration platformsOwning architecture across Microsoft Dynamics 365, internal systems, and third-party SaaS applicationsWriting production-grade code and setting engineering standardsMentoring and supporting engineers across Python and .NET ecosystemsDriving best practice across code quality, testing, CI/CD and technical deliveryWorking closely with Product, QA and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutionsChampioning the practical and responsible use of AI development tools to improve engineering velocity and qualityMaking key architectural decisions that support business growth and operational excellenceEssential ExperienceProven experience in a Lead Engineer, Principal Engineer or Senior Engineering roleDeep hands-on expertise in Python and/or .NETStrong background in backend engineering, APIs, integrations and event-driven architecturesExperience designing and building solutions across ERP platforms, ideally Dynamics 365Strong SQL and data modelling expertiseCloud experience across AWS and/or AzurePractical DevOps knowledge including CI/CD and Infrastructure as CodeAbility to balance short-term delivery with long-term architectural strategyExperience using modern AI coding tools to enhance software development
