The organization values integrity, inclusivity, and a strong commitment to service.Role Description The Lead Software Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ranchi, responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of core software systems that support Heartitude Foundation’s programs and operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include architecting back-end solutions, writing clean and efficient code, reviewing contributions from other developers, and ensuring system performance, scalability, and security. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate program and operational requirements into technical specifications, managing code repositories, and overseeing deployment pipelines. The Lead Software Engineer will mentor junior engineers, establish best practices in software development, and contribute to long-term technology strategy and roadmap planning.Qualifications Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, with experience building APIs, integrating databases, and working with server-side frameworks.Hands-on Software Development experience across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance.Advanced Programming skills and expertise in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with the ability to design modular, maintainable, and testable code.Experience leading engineering teams, conducting code reviews, and mentoring developers.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.Ability to work on-site in Ranchi, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience in mission-driven or nonprofit environments, and an interest in technology for social impact, is a plus.
