Lead Software Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a global healthcare technology team developing next-generation intelligent solutions for Ultrasound Systems. In this role, you'll combine hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, driving architecture decisions, mentoring engineers, and delivering innovative solutions that make a real impact on patient care worldwide.Your responsibilitiesLead the development, implementation, documentation, testing, and verification of complex software modulesAct as a technical lead for a small team of software engineers, providing guidance and mentoringDrive architecture and technical direction for Windows-based applications and integration solutionsDevelop software using C++, C#, WPF, WinForms, COM, AppAPI, Visual Studio, and MSBuildChampion engineering best practices including TDD, CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, coding standards, and documentationLead Agile activities including sprint planning, execution, retrospectives, task breakdown, and validation strategiesCoordinate with local and international teams, translating requirements into technical solutions and delivery plansProvide regular updates on technical progress, risks, and project status to stakeholders and managementEnsure software quality, maintainability, and compliance within a regulated healthcare environmentContribute to projects involving scanner applications, developer tools, streaming clients, Python clients, and software integrationsWhat we're looking forBSc, MSc, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related fieldAt least 5 years of professional software engineering experienceStrong programming skills in C++ and C#Hands-on experience with Windows desktop development, including Visual Studio, MSBuild, WPF, and WinFormsExperience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, pull request-based workflows, automated testing, and technical documentationExperience building and integrating DLLs, LIBs, and C-style APIs in Windows environmentsStrong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering best practicesExperience working in Agile development environmentsPrevious experience mentoring engineers and owning technical deliveryFluent English communication skills, both written and spokenNice to haveExperience with WPF, WinForms, MFC, COM, and AppAPIExperience with Python and mixed C++/Python applicationsExperience in medical device software development or other highly regulated industriesKnowledge of imaging technologies, ultrasound systems, image processing, DICOMWeb, streaming solutions, or archive/viewer workflowsExperience with AI-powered solutions and AI-assisted developmentGerman language skillsWhat we offerFlexible hybrid work model (2 office days, 3 home office days)Competitive compensation packageCafeteria allowanceHome office supportGlasses allowancePrivate health insuranceParental support programsFitness and wellbeing benefitsInternational and collaborative work environmentThe opportunity to shape healthcare technologies used by clinicians worldwide
