Lead Software Engineer – Full-Stack London | HybridOur client is a global financial services organisation investing in modern technology and new ways of working.This is a hands-on full-stack leadership role focused on Java/Spring Boot, React, architecture and technical direction, with increasing opportunities to introduce AI capabilities into enterprise applications.In This Role You Will:Provide technical leadership across full-stack engineering initiativesDesign and develop scalable, enterprise-grade applicationsWork hands-on across backend and frontend developmentContribute to architecture, system design and technical decision-makingWork closely with engineering, product and analytics teamsMentor engineers and influence technical directionIdentify opportunities to introduce AI and modern engineering approachesEssential Requirements:10+ years' professional software engineering experienceStrong backend engineering experience with Java/Spring BootStrong commercial React experienceGenuine full-stack development experienceStrong understanding of architecture and system designExperience building enterprise-grade applications in productionStrong knowledge of REST APIs, databases and modern software engineering practicesFamiliarity with AI technologies, including LLMs, RAG or AI-powered applicationsEven Better If You Have:Experience with Python, particularly in AI/ML or application developmentAWS or Azure, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD experiencePrevious experience as a Technical Lead, Principal Engineer or ArchitectFinancial services or large enterprise experienceExperience introducing AI capabilities or identifying practical AI use casesYou don't need to be an AI developer for this role, but you should be comfortable working with AI technologies and exploring how they can be applied within enterprise applications.
