Apply & track with Apply EdgeA leading investment firm is continuing to build out its credit technology organization supporting investment, trading, risk, and portfolio management teams across the business. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining the systems used throughout the credit investment lifecycle, with a focus on improving how investment professionals access data, evaluate opportunities, manage positions, and monitor risk. Currently the firm is seeking a Lead Engineer to take ownership of critical applications and help drive the technical direction of the credit technology platform. This individual will work directly with portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and other engineering teams to understand business requirements and deliver scalable technology solutions. The right profile will combine strong software engineering expertise with a meaningful understanding of credit markets and the workflows that support them.Responsibilities:Lead the design, development, and delivery of applications supporting credit investment, trading, portfolio management, and risk workflows.Work directly with portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and other front office users to understand requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.Design and build high-quality production systems using C# or Java, with a focus on performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.Provide technical leadership across system architecture, code quality, engineering standards, testing, deployment, and ongoing platform modernization.Partner with data and engineering teams to integrate market data, reference data, positions, pricing, analytics, and other critical datasets into front office applications.Mentor engineers, lead technical design discussions, and take ownership of complex projects from initial requirements through production implementation.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.Strong professional software engineering experience with expertise in either C# or Java and a demonstrated ability to design and build complex production systems.Credit experience is required, with a strong understanding of credit products, investment workflows, market data, pricing, positions, and the technology requirements of credit investment teams.Experience working with asset classes such as corporate credit, leveraged loans, high yield, investment grade, structured credit, or other credit products is strongly preferred.Strong understanding of software architecture, data structures, APIs, relational databases, distributed systems, testing, and modern software development practices.Experience working directly with front office investment or trading users and the ability to translate business problems into well-designed technical solutions.Python experience is highly valued, particularly for data analysis, automation, tooling, or integration with quantitative and data workflows, but is not required.Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to operate independently, mentor engineers, and drive technical decisions across a complex credit technology environment. Candidates without meaningful professional credit experience will not be considered.
