We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive the development of our next-generation Copyright Data Management (CDM) platform. You'll provide technical leadership for a strategically important programme, working closely with engineering and product teams across our UK and US offices to deliver scalable, reliable software. What you will doOwn the technical delivery of the CDM initiative, working closely with the Director of Software Engineering and other engineering leaders.Work closely with Product, Engineering and stakeholders across the UK and US to define priorities and execution plans.Remain hands-on by designing, implementing and reviewing production code for key platform components.Identify technical risks and drive pragmatic solutions.Guide architectural decisions and engineering best practices.Mentor engineers through code reviews, design discussions and pairing.Promote the effective use of AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.Essential skillsStrong commercial experience developing production systems in Go.Experience designing and building distributed systems using technologies such as PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.Strong experience building and operating cloud-native applications on AWS, including EKS, RDS, EC2, CloudWatch and Kinesis.Experience with Kubernetes and containerised deployments.Strong understanding of CI/CD, observability and modern software delivery practices.Desirable skillsExperience with event-driven architectures (Kinesis, Kafka or similar).Experience leading technical projects.Previous mentoring or people management experience.Experience modernising legacy platforms.Experience collaborating with international engineering teams.Why join usThis is an opportunity to play a key role in modernising a business-critical platform while influencing engineering practices across an international organisation.
