Lead Subsea Designer

Role SummaryThe Lead Subsea Designer is responsible for leading the subsea design and drafting team in the development of engineering deliverables for offshore oil and gas projects. This role oversees the preparation and coordination of detailed drawings, and fabrication drawings for subsea offshore projects, pipelines, umbilical’s, risers, Diving, Cables, RMM and other method drawings. The Lead Subsea Designer ensures compliance with project specifications, internal standards, client requirements, and company procedures while supporting FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, installation, and brownfield modification projects.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise a team of subsea designers and CAD specialists. Plan, assign, and monitor design activities to meet project schedules and quality objectives. Review and approve subsea design deliverables before issue. Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior designers. Ensure compliance with project procedures, design standards, and quality management systems.Support offshore installation activities by preparing installation drawings.Education & QualificationsDiploma or bachelor’s degree13+ years of offshore subsea design experienceAt least 5 years in a lead or supervisory roleExtensive experience in offshore oil and gas projectsSkills & CompetenciesProficiency in CAD software (ACAD & MicroStation)Strong understanding of engineering or subsea and drafting standards.Leadership and team management Excellent communication and coordination Strong planning and organizational skills Problem-solving and analytical thinking Ability to manage multiple prioritiesCoaching and mentoring capabilityResponsibilitiesLead and supervise drafting teams in producing accurate and detailed technical drawings.Interpret design specifications, sketches, and engineering data into CAD models and layouts.Review, check, and approve drawings to ensure compliance with project standards and quality requirements.
