You'll lead by example through technical excellence, problem solving, and mentorship.ResponsibilitiesPerform complete setup, changeover, and optimization of Swiss-style CNC lathesIndependently troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issuesOptimize cycle times while maintaining tight tolerances and exceptional qualitySelect tooling, inserts, workholding, and cutting parameters for maximum efficiencyRecommend improvements to tooling, fixturing, machining strategies, and processesInterpret complex blueprints, GD&T, engineering drawings, and process documentationPerform first-piece inspections and support root cause analysis of quality concernsTrain and mentor setup machinists and CNC operators on best machining practicesWork closely with engineering, programming, quality, and production teamsSupport new product launches, prototype work, and process validationMaintain machine uptime through proactive troubleshooting and preventative practicesEnsure adherence to quality systems, safety standards, and production schedulesWhat We're Looking ForWe're seeking a highly skilled Swiss machining professional who thrives in a fast-paced precision manufacturing environment.Required Qualifications5+ years of Swiss CNC machining experienceExtensive experience performing complete machine setupsStrong troubleshooting skills involving tooling, programs, machine conditions, and part qualityExperience machining tight-tolerance componentsAdvanced understanding of GD&TAbility to read and interpret complex engineering drawingsExperience selecting tooling, inserts, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategiesStrong understanding of process improvement and cycle time optimizationExperience performing precision inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, bore gages, and other precision measuring equipmentAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent communication and leadership skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following:CitizenStarTsugamiHanwhaNakamuraMulti-axis Swiss CNC lathesMill-turn machiningMedical device manufacturingAerospace manufacturingDefense manufacturingLean ManufacturingContinuous ImprovementRoot Cause AnalysisFirst Article InspectionPrototype machiningWhat Makes You SuccessfulYou enjoy solving difficult machining problems.You can quickly identify root causes and implement permanent solutions.You continuously look for ways to improve quality, cycle times, and efficiency.You take ownership of machine performance and production success.You enjoy mentoring less experienced machinists and helping the team grow.
