Lead Teacher & Campus Director Dragons Academy – West Palm Beach, Florida (local only) Position Overview Dragons Academy is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly engaged Lead Teacher & Campus Director to lead our West Palm Beach campus. This is a unique leadership role combining educational leadership, student support, family engagement, and day-to-day campus management. Dragons Academy was built on the belief that strong partnerships between families and educators create stronger students. Our team members have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping build and scale an innovative educational model. The Campus Director will play a critical role in creating a supportive, engaging, and academically focused environment where each student receives the individualized attention needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities Educational Leadership Serve as the educational leader of the West Palm Beach campus and establish a culture of academic excellence, accountability, and student success. Provide and/or oversee individualized one-to-one instruction and ensure learning plans are tailored to each student's academic needs, goals, and learning style. Monitor student academic progress and work closely with educators to identify challenges and opportunities for growth. Support teachers in lesson planning, instructional strategies, classroom management, and student engagement. Ensure curriculum, instruction, assessments, and student support strategies are aligned with Academy expectations. Foster an environment that encourages students to take ownership of their learning and develop confidence, independence, and strong academic habits. Student & Family Engagement Build strong, trusting relationships with students and their families. Serve as a key point of contact for families regarding student progress, academic goals, schedules, and overall experience. Maintain consistent and proactive communication with parents and guardians. Lead regular student and family progress discussions and ensure concerns are addressed quickly and professionally. Help families understand and actively participate in their student's educational journey. Create a welcoming, supportive, and student-centered campus environment. Campus Leadership & Operations Oversee the daily operations of the West Palm Beach campus. Manage campus schedules, student programming, staffing, facilities, and day-to-day activities. Establish and maintain high standards for professionalism, communication, student safety, and campus operations. Monitor campus performance, enrollment, student retention, and overall family satisfaction. Partner with the Admission Manager to support prospective families, student assessments, campus visits, and enrollment activities. Work closely with Academy leadership to implement strategic initiatives and continuously improve the student and family experience. Leadership & Growth Identify opportunities to improve instructional quality, student outcomes, family engagement, and campus operations. Participate in leadership meetings and provide regular updates regarding campus performance, student progress, staffing, and operational needs. Serve as an ambassador for Dragons Academy within the West Palm Beach community. Support the growth of the campus while maintaining the personalized experience that defines the Academy. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. Valid Florida teaching certification required. 5+ years of teaching experience with demonstrated leadership responsibilities. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.  Experience as a Lead Teacher, Department Head, Academic Director, Assistant Principal, Principal, or similar educational leadership role within an alternative school environment preferred. Prior experience with Florida’s Step Up For Students program, including managing the application, enrollment, funding, reimbursement, and compliance processes and ensuring funds are properly received and applied to student tuition and educational expenses. Experience working with individualized instruction, personalized learning plans, or students with diverse academic needs strongly preferred. Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, student progress monitoring, and instructional best practices. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff. Comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial, and evolving educational environment. Strong technology and administrative skills. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is an educational leader who is equally passionate about teaching, student development, and building relationships with families.
