Families value the School’s commitment to a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.Role Description The Lead Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located at The Goddard School in Eagan, MN. This role is responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate lessons, activities, and curriculum that support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The Lead Teacher will create a positive, inclusive classroom environment, guide daily routines, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children. Responsibilities include observing and documenting developmental progress, communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with fellow educators and administrators. The Lead Teacher will also mentor and support assistant teachers, participate in ongoing training, and uphold school policies, licensing regulations, and health and safety standards.Qualifications Strong background in Education, with knowledge of early childhood development and best practices.Demonstrated Teaching and Training skills, including leading classrooms and mentoring assistant teachers.Ability to design and execute effective Lesson Planning aligned with developmental and curricular goals.Excellent Communication skills for partnering with families, collaborating with colleagues, and documenting child progress.Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.Relevant teaching experience in an early childhood or preschool setting, preferably in a lead role.Knowledge of classroom management, positive guidance techniques, and child safety practices.Ability to meet state and local licensing requirements, including background checks and health clearances.Commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful environment for children, families, and staff.
