Joining La Petite Academy means becoming part of a larger community focused on quality care, learning, and career development.Role Description The Lead Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Cypress, TX. This position is responsible for creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The Lead Teacher will guide daily classroom activities, maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, and model positive behavior and interactions. Responsibilities include observing and documenting children’s progress, communicating regularly with families, and collaborating with colleagues to align classroom practices with school-wide standards. The Lead Teacher will also mentor and support assistant teachers, participate in ongoing training, and ensure compliance with licensing and organizational policies.Qualifications Strong lesson planning and curriculum development skills, including the ability to design engaging, age-appropriate activities.Background in education and child development, with knowledge of early childhood learning principles and best practices.Effective communication skills for interacting with children, families, and colleagues in a clear, respectful, and professional manner.Demonstrated teaching and classroom management abilities, with experience leading groups of young children.Training and mentoring skills to guide assistant teachers and support a collaborative team environment.Relevant experience in early childhood or preschool settings; prior lead or supervisory classroom experience is strongly preferred.High school diploma required; CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.Ability to meet state and local licensing requirements, including background checks and health clearances.Commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and nurturing environment that supports diverse children and families.
