Company Description Principle Health Systems (PHS) hiring a Lead Technologist for newly open Core laboratory (Chemistry/Special Chemistry/Hematology/Urinalysis) in Indianapolis, In.Role Description The Lead Technologist (MT/MLS), Core Laboratory responsible for overseeing daily core laboratory operations and ensuring accurate, timely diagnostic testing. The person in this role leads and supports a team of technologists, provides technical guidance, and serves as a resource for complex cases and troubleshooting instruments or methodologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing and reviewing laboratory tests, maintaining quality control, and adhering to regulatory and accreditation standards. This role collaborates closely with clinical and operational stakeholders to optimize workflows, improve turnaround times, and uphold patient-centered service. The Lead Technologist also contributes to training, competency assessments, and process improvements to support safe, efficient mobile diagnostics.QualificationsStrong core laboratory expertise, including assays validation, specimen handling, and quality control in clinical chemistry, hematology, and related disciplines.Demonstrated leadership skills, such as supervising or leading laboratory staff, mentoring technologists, and coordinating day-to-day operations and scheduling.Proficiency with common laboratory analyzers and instruments, including troubleshooting and maintenance.Thorough knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CLIA, CAP, COLA, state regulations) and experience implementing and monitoring compliance.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities for interpreting complex test results and resolving technical issues.Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with clinicians, nursing staff, and internal teams in a remote, distributed environment.Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.MT/MLS certification (e.g., ASCP or equivalent) and a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related fieldPrevious experience in a lead preferable
