SUNO fosters an inclusive campus environment that values community engagement and cultural heritage, providing leadership opportunities across academics, student life, and administration.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site leadership position based in New Orleans, LA. The role is responsible for setting strategic direction, supporting institutional goals, and overseeing day-to-day operations within an assigned unit, department, or division. Typical responsibilities include supervising team members, managing budgets and resources, coordinating academic or administrative initiatives, and ensuring compliance with university policies and applicable regulations. The position collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to enhance program quality, student success, and campus engagement. The leader will also represent SUNO in internal and external meetings, contribute to planning and assessment efforts, and support a culture of inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement.Qualifications Demonstrated leadership and management abilities, including team supervision, decision-making, and conflict resolution.Experience with strategic planning, program development, and assessment of outcomes in an academic or comparable setting.Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.Competence in organizational administration, including budgeting, resource allocation, and policy implementation.Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and support for the mission of a historically Black university.Relevant educational background, typically a master’s degree or higher in a related field; advanced degrees and prior higher education leadership experience are preferred.Ability to manage multiple priorities, use data to inform decisions, and adapt to evolving institutional needs.
