Lean Business Analyst

Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior Lean Business Analyst to lead business process improvement, operational excellence, and Lean transformation initiatives across the organisation.The successful candidate will combine strong business analysis, Lean methodology, process improvement, and stakeholder management skills to identify opportunities, analyse current-state processes, design improved ways of working, and support the delivery of measurable business benefits.This role will work closely with business leaders, operational teams, technology teams, and project stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, sustainable improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Analysis & Process ImprovementLead complex business analysis and process improvement initiatives from discovery through to implementation.Analyse current-state processes, systems, data, and organisational structures to identify inefficiencies, waste, risks, and improvement opportunities.Develop clear as-is and to-be process maps, business requirements, process documentation, and improvement recommendations.Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to understand business needs, pain points, root causes, and improvement opportunities.Translate business problems into clearly defined requirements, improvement initiatives, and measurable outcomes.Challenge existing processes and ways of working to identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation, and cost reduction.Lean & Continuous ImprovementApply Lean principles and methodologies including Lean Six Sigma, DMAIC, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, standard work, root-cause analysis, and waste elimination.Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, customer experience, productivity, cycle time, and operational efficiency.Identify and eliminate the eight wastes of Lean across business processes.Facilitate Kaizen events and structured problem-solving sessions.Establish and monitor process KPIs to demonstrate the impact and sustainability of improvements.Support the development of a continuous improvement culture across the organisation.Coach and mentor colleagues in Lean thinking and continuous improvement techniques.Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and operational teams.Identify and manage business risks, dependencies, assumptions, and issues.Essential Experience & SkillsSignificant experience working as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Process Analyst, Continuous Improvement Specialist, or similar role.Proven experience delivering Lean, operational excellence, process improvement, or business transformation initiatives.Strong understanding of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience conducting process analysis and designing future-state processes.Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.Experience using structured root-cause analysis and data-driven decision making.Ability to translate complex business problems into clear requirements and actionable solutions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Experience working across multiple business functions and with senior stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a complex, changing environment.Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt qualification.
