As part of our mission to establish a premier institution in Asia, MILA University is actively seeking applications for teaching position within the Centre for Language Studies.We are particularly interested in candidates specializing in the following area:English LanguageWe hope to find enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a strong record of professional practice, academic research, and/or enterprise activities in business management who can contribute to the growth of MILA University.Job PurposeThe English Language Lecturer is responsible for delivering high-quality English language instruction, developing teaching materials, assessing student performance, and contributing to the academic growth of the Centre for Language Studies. The role requires a committed educator with strong teaching, communication, and student engagement skills, and a willingness to support academic activities, including Saturday classes when required.ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities:Deliver English language courses for foundation, diploma, or degree-level students, including the English Enhancement Programme.Plan, prepare, and conduct engaging lessons aligned with curriculum requirements and learning outcomes.Develop teaching materials, assessments, and supplementary resources to support student learning.Assess, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback on student performance.Monitor student progress and implement strategies to improve language proficiency.Conduct IELTS preparation classes and/or support IELTS Lab sessions where required.Integrate technology and online learning tools into teaching practices.Work on Saturdays if required for classes, workshops, or academic activities.Academic Administration & Support:Maintain accurate academic records, including attendance, assessments, and grading.Participate in curriculum review and the development of new English language programmes.Support departmental activities such as workshops, seminars, language events, and promotional activities.Provide academic advising and consultation to students when necessary.Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching quality and student engagement.Perform any other academic-related duties as assigned by the Head of Department or management.Skills, Knowledge & CompetenciesQualifications & Experience:• A Master’s degree in TESL, English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field• Teaching experience in English language education; experience with IELTS preparation is an advantage.Skills & Knowledge:• Excellent command of written and spoken English.• Strong teaching, facilitation, and classroom management skills.• Proficient in Microsoft Office and online learning platforms.• Ability to design engaging lessons and effective assessments.• Good understanding of student-centered learning and academic standards.Competencies:• Passionate about teaching and student development.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.• Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous professional development.• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.• Effective interpersonal and communication skills with students and colleagues.Application Submission:Interested applicants are invited to submit the following documents via LinkedIn or directly to: brandon.toh@mila.edu.my.Cover Letter – please address how you meet the Job Responsibilities and Requirements.Latest resume or curriculum vitae.If you choose email directly to brandon.toh@mila.edu.my, kindly state the position applied in the "subject" column of the email.Closing Date: Open until filled.All applications will be treated confidential.
