Originally established as Institut Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn, it later became Kolej Universiti Teknologi Tun Hussein Onn (KUiTTHO) before being promoted to full university status. UTHM continues to develop as a recognized center for higher education, offering academic programs and research opportunities in various disciplines, including computer science.Role Description The Lecturer in Computer Science is a full-time, on-site role based at the UTHM campus in Batu Pahat. The lecturer will deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in computer science and related areas, including preparing and presenting lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and updating curriculum materials, assessing student performance, providing academic advising, and supporting students’ learning through consultations and feedback. The lecturer will also engage in scholarly activities such as research, publication, and participation in academic committees, as well as contribute to departmental initiatives and community outreach where appropriate.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong knowledge in core Computer Science domains and emerging technologies.Candidates should possess skills in Programming and practical software development for teaching and project supervision.Candidates should possess expertise in Cybersecurity concepts and practices relevant to modern computing environments.Candidates should possess experience in Lecturing and effective classroom teaching, including student engagement and assessment.Candidates should possess capabilities in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, and instructional materials.A relevant postgraduate degree (preferably a Master’s or PhD in Computer Science or a closely related field) is highly desirable.Strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse academic community, and a commitment to inclusive teaching practices are expected.Prior university-level teaching experience and a record of research or industry experience in computing-related fields will be considered an advantage.
